With a limited space, this was about the only model fridge we could buy. Mostly OK but, VERY frustrating that items placed anywhere near the "white box" on the top shelf will be frozen. Out of the 4 bars of the chill level (4 being the coldest) we keep it at 2. Sodas,juice, cream, have been lost to this problem. After seeing that others have complained with this same issue, why hasn't it been addressed?

Shelf design flaw

I love the look inside and out of this refrigerator. It has a lot more room than my older model. One flaw in the design is the square door shelves; within two days I tried to shut the door with the crisper drawer still open and ended up with a crack in the crisper drawer. I checked the shelves in my old model and various other store brands, this was the only model I saw with the square shelves, all others are rounded. I ordered a new drawer for $150. Please take a second look at this design and make appropriate changes.

The appliance is good. It takes a long time to make ice. We have had to go out and purchase bags of ice. We do go through a lot of it but compared to our old Whirlpool refrigerator it seems it only makes about 50% of the ice We took the top shelf out because there wasn't enough room for big stuff, gallon of milk and other bigger items.

I can't say much because I just got my side-by-side last week. I do like the looks of it and so far, I like everything else. The sealing on the fridge is very good, so much better than my last fridge. I love the shelving; it is so nice. I have two crisper drawers and a deli draw and a place for my butter in the door. Everything is well within reach, and I love the freezer section. The ice maker is very nice and the ice and water in the door is great. We love the crushed ice feature. There's plenty of room on both sides. So far, it's been great.

I did not like the fact that the refrigerator did not have adjustable shelves. I could not even get a quart of milk on the top shelf without removing the shelf which I had to store on top of the first crisper drawer. Another disappointment was the number of crisper drawers. Did not need three crisper drawers. One large one would have been sufficient. I would have preferred another shelf. Also, the ability to turn the ice maker on and off is hard to do without getting on a step ladder to see what I am doing.

After 25 years, I had to replace my old refrigerator. But finding one that would fit into the existing cabinet space proved daunting! Fortunately, this Whirlpool did so and had all of the features that I needed, such as an ice maker and water dispenser. The freezer space is a bit narrow, but I don't use that side very much. The refrigerated side has ample storage, bins and shelving and works well! The only draw-back that I've found is that the top shelf is too short, not able to accommodate large water bottles, etc.

RUN, RUN FAST AND HARD FROM THIS REFRIGERATOR! Was delivered 33 days ago and already the ice maker and water have broken! Went back to Lowe's as I wanted a replacement, to no avail. Their cutoff is 30 days, and I purchased 3 major appliances in 4 weeks, spending thousands of dollars! After researching, this is a known problem with this model. Been sitting on hold with Whirlpool service for over 30 minutes to schedule repair. I have always purchased Whirlpool, Maytag and Kitchenaid products for years and had great experiences. This one is a dud!

Pretty Good, 1 Major Disappointment

The unit cools and freezes well. The lighting is good and well placed. Shelving on the fridge side is flexible and offers ample space. The drawers are well sized. The bins on the door offer flexible spacing and can hold many items. The freezer spacing and shelving is a bit challenging. Since the freezer space goes deep, you have to constantly move items to get to those that are kept in the rear. Some kind of pull out drawrs in at least 2 or 3 shelves would be helpful. The door gaskets seem to provide a good seal when the doors are closed. The door handles need to be placed farther apart. When opening, several times my fingers got pinched between the two handles. The ice maker seems to work well. Although once, it stopped working...the repair person found the switch turned off. It apparently turned off on its own as I had no idea where it was located and the repair person had to remmove the ice bin to get to it??? Whirlpool missed the mark when it comes to the water dispenser. There is no reservoir to hold ta reasonable amount of H2O to cool it. They call the turbing entering the refrigerator a reservoir. NO WAY! This was my first fridge with a water dispenser and it cost me alot of money to have a water line installed. I am not exaggerating to say that the water seldom comes out chilled. Even in the morning when I dispense water it's as if I got it directly from the tap??? The ice maker and water dispenser take up too much room room in the smallish freezer. It needs to be redesigned and space must be provided for a water reservoir. Customer service through Costco is very good and responded promptly sending out a technician to try to address my issues with the unit.

This model does not have adjustible shelving which I miss. The freezer is quite small. The cooling controls on the front by the water and ice dispencer is inconvenient when grandkids are visiting because they like to play with buttons. If I lock buttons then they cannot get water and ice. It is a nice fridge and keeps everything cold. Makes Ice pretty quickly which is a plus. I did get it because the price was great.

The shelving is very limited as to placement. It isn't convenient to place taller items etc. So, as far as accessibility I would like to have more options for placing shelves. The ice/water area would be better if it had a deeper dish with a grate of some sort so if an ice cube falls out (which it does) the melted water doesn't drip down the door. I do like the fact that it automatically makes ice cubes as it becomes necessary to keep the bin full. No problems with the cooling/freezing.

One major design flaw

I have had this new fridge for 5 months now. So far the inside stays nice and cold. Ice cubes are nice, more rounded than the long wedges I had before. Reason for the 3 stars: the water dispenser is too close to the edge of the fridge, so the water tray is not able to catch in all the drips. (After you use the dispenser, it will drip afterwards). So the water drips all the way down the fridge and has left a long white line. You cannot wipe the line off, it is permanent. You can actually feel it with your finger. Makes me wonder if this is really stainless steel. I had my old fridge for 20 yrs, not a mark on it. This flaw happened the first month. Not happy the way in looks for being so new.

This is a nice looking refrigerator. The brushed stainless always looks clean without finger prints. It has a sleek appearance. The inside is spacious and has plenty of shelf space. I would prefer the shelves were adjustable. The refrigerator maintains stable temperatures in the freezer and refrigerator. The ice and water dispenser is not big enough to accommodate larger glasses or flasks. I have to use a small cup to dispense my ice. My biggest concern about the refrigerator is that the refrigerator door slams open. There is no resistance to keep this from happening. I had a service man come out to look at it and he said there was nothing they could do.

Ice Maker (Cube) Dispenser is noisy

I am disappointed with the Ice Maker. It makes a lot of noise when dispensing Ice Cubes. I also cannot fit my 20oz mug underneath the dispenser to get ice. I have to use a smaller cup and transfer it each time. Otherwise, the refrigerator is great.

We are extremely happy with this refrigerator. The cooling is incredibly consistent, keeping everything perfectly cold. The shelving layout makes organization a breeze, and the side-by-side design provides excellent accessibility to both fresh and frozen items. Food preservation has been top-notch, keeping our fruits and veggies fresh much longer than our old unit. Highly recommend!

Horrible product

After the first month, the new refrigerator does not Maintain consistent temperature on the fridge and freezer areas. It cycles temp in fridge side from 25-40 degrees when set on the warmest setting. The freezer has similar cycles to 35degrees. This causes freezing of eggs and drinks. I had a similar experience with another one of these models and swapped it 3 times before I finally gave up. The only reason I tried again was this model was the only one that would fit in the space.

The water from the dispenser isn't very cold, almost room temperat,ure. the side by side doors are not even--refrigerator door is nigher than the freezer door. Everything else is as it should be.

I bought this refrigerator due to its size that fit my small kitchen, and its affordability. It was still more cubic feet than my top freezer model, but because of the narrowness of the freezer, storage is more difficult and inconvenient. My previous Whirlpool had an easy to remove bottom panel. On this model, in order to remove the lower panel and clean the condenser coils, screws must be removed. They are difficult to access, and the screws are small, and not magnetic. I fear they will be stripped before the frig wears out. Clips would be useful. Dog hair affects the cooling, so it is a problem for me.

Not a Happy Camper

We have had this refrigerator for less than 3 months and it is not working. It turned off and everything inside went bad or melted. We purchased new in April 2026, this is July and not working. Call warranty for servicing and they could not send an agent for an entire week. Asked what I should do in meantime and they said whatever it takes to preserve the damage to anything in the refrigerator. Ask about compensation for lost food. Agent said could not authorize anything till repair person could check what was happening with the unit.
