Cute but very bad refrigerator

I bought this because I needed for my small duplex . I thought that very well thought the inside . But, after 3 months stop cooling the fridge and make all the greaser full of ice . My food was always rotten my gallon off milk were bad in 24 hours inside . They came 5 times in 12 months from the extended guaranty una the last part now freeze in the refrigerator and not in the freezer. I™€™m eating the replacement on this month on the betweennthr 21-26 and really I will love if they bring me another model don™€™t care if it™€™s freezer up but this refrigerator was a very bad model and the review are saying the same problems and technicians were telling me the same. It™€™s obvious that whirlpool this time ( I never had any other problems with other refrigerators models. My fault to became in love for the inside. But I hope I can have a working Refrigerator/ frizzer/ice.because I sell my empanadas and I™€™m out of my incame already for more than 3 months waiting .

Nice looking but fails to keep stuff frozen

Ive had similar issues that others have faced. This model fails to keep the freezer cold enough for ice. Has happened twice now in the past 2 years. The first time it worked after a few days. This time I'm looking for an alternative fridge. (I just noticed a plug in the freezer side which has an arrow on it indicated it can be moved. Not sure what its for. It was jogged by one of the freezer trays.) On the plus side, both the fridge and freezer sections are very well laid out. The trays and bins are designed in a manner that holds much more than its small cubic space suggests. Far better use of space than our full size 36" wide GE which has positively terrible interior design. In addition, the exterior is good looking which is not usually the case in these smaller 'garage' or basement appliances. Fire the engineers and keep the designers on this model. Unfortunately I very likely will be influenced by this experience.

Bad Product - Bad Service!

Hello Possible Customers. Run from this fridge. Mine has broken (in operatable) TWICE! I have owned it 3 years this month (July 24). I left my review Roy in Texas 2 weeks ago. Whirlpool was very quick to respond creating a case for me. I was hoping they were going to do the right thing. Responding to my review created a case and asked me to reach out to them. They messaged me seeming to be helpful. They asked if I had an extended warranty. I do not because I expected this fridge to FUNCTION more than 36 MONTHS. I have owned 10+ fridges in my life and 5 of them are still running 10+ years with NEVER A PROBLEM. Shame on Whirlpool for scamming their customers . Please beware!

Unit stopped working Twice!

I so wanted to like this fridge. It looks great and fit our needs perfectly BUT at 7 months old it stopped working. Called for service and they checked out the unit and said it needed a new compressor. Well, it was backordered for 2+ months and finally it was replaced. Now 12 months later and out of warranty the freezer stops cooling and the no ice is being made. Do not buy this fridge. It seems to have a very short lifespan.

From Disgruntled to Disgusted This is my review from 2 years ago: So frustrating Purchased this fridge, model WRB543CMJZ00, in January, 2021. Delivered in February, 2021. Extremely happy with the product for 2 weeks. Then noticed it was not cooling. Took one week for diagnosis. Compressor was only working at half capacity. Several calls to Whirlpool and the service provider to find out compressor is on back order. Will ship the compressor directly to us but then what? We are strapped. No money for another fridge. So worried this fridge will quit completely. Have to wait an additional 30 days before the request for a replacement can be started. Maybe we just got a lemon but Whirlpool has not been very accommodating Update After 17 calls with untold time on hold I was promised a new fridge. It was delivered and all was well. They even put in an ice maker for my trouble. One month after the one year warranty it quit cooling. The gist of my call to Whirlpool was since the fridge was out of warranty, I was out of luck. Service man just left. This time it was the compressor. Told the cost of repair is not worth the value of the fridge. Two refrigerators in less than two years. Totally lost exorbitant price we paid. Will post this review to all sites possible to save someone else the poor investment. Now I have to find a place to dispose of this piece of junk!

This unit fails to cool the refrigerator section even after technician changed baffle. The chassis for the ice maker is missing hardware and does not appear to be installed properly. Water supply hose is bent down because of this. We will call warranty department for a replacement.

I™€™ve had this fridge for 4 months & it hasn™€™t worked properly for the last month. There have been 2 separate Whirlpool approved technicians, one who said they didn™€™t repair this model & the other who replaced the compressor after waiting for the part to be delivered. It worked for 5 days after the repair and now the freezer is dead. I™€™ve sent emails, tweets and will continue to call customer service ( which gives attitude but no real service) until this inferior defective product is replaced or I am refunded. Whirlpool should be ashamed.

Worst refrigerator I ever had

After 3 months it stopped cooling. It took a month to get a technician out to determine that the computer is bad. It took another 2 month to get the piece. Still not working. No gas. Now, it needs to be replaced. Another 2 months later still waiting. They are lying to me when the new one will be available. On top the product is flimsy, breaks easy, just badly designed and made.

Great idea, broke, poor support

Bought this fridge because we have a narrow space, and there are not many options. For the first 9 months, it worked great. Now, the freezer still works, but the main fridge compartment ranges in temp from 50F to 70F. Local repair shop came out within one week for warranty service and identified a sensor that needs replaced - decent service to that point. They do not have an ETA on the part, however, so I am in limbo. I had bought the Home Depot protection plan because of the poor reviews on reliability, fearing this exact situation. The HD plan warranty center wasn't able to solve my problem; it sounded like if it was out of warranty they could service it, but because it is in warranty they cannot. The best they could do was help me by calling (white glove service) the various Whirlpool support numbers, with me waiting on the line, to try to get my issue resolved. In the end, Whirlpool told me I have to wait until 21 business days after the part was ordered, and then I can submit a request for a replacement under warranty. Meanwhile I had to buy another fridge. When I read the reviews before buying, there was a definite trend of poor quality. It has now lived up to my expectations.

Don™€™t waste time and money

Worked for 10 months, then stopped cooking. Been 3 months of no refrigerator and ongoing still. Whirlpool keeps sending third party technicians that can™€™t fix it, or aren™€™t trained to work with the highlight flammable free-on. Now machine warranty has expired after waiting four weeks for a chip part that still didn™€™t fix the machine. I™€™m waiting again to find trained tech in the area that can do the repair. Save yourself the trouble and hassle of going months with no fridge and speaking with many unpleasant customer service reps. Today I spoke to a lady and she was very understanding, one out of 10 reps. Whirlpool is not a trustworthy brand. There fridges are not built to last. Reading these reviews now many have the same issue.

My elderly parents purchased this fridge a couple of months ago and it was fine ™€¦ for a while. First, the freezer stopped working. The Whirlpool technician came out and fixed it. A few days ago, the refrigerator part stopped working. The technician came out again and left us a full list of all the things that are wrong, need to be fixed and shockingly are on back-order. Meanwhile, my parents (in their 80s) have a giant not-working appliance with no idea when - or more accurately, if - it can be fixed. More than 30 minutes on hold with Whirlpool at this point, by the way.

Junked after 3 months

This thing never worked right. Right after turning it on the first time, the temperature seemed to be erratic. Some days it melted ice in the freezer then in a few days it refroze it. After buying fridge thermometers to investigate, they showed the freezer fluctuating 28-36deg and fridge 45-60 deg over several days. That explained some food going suspected bad and some of us getting sick stomach without the food necessarily tasting bad. That's how I found out that the fancy display in the front of this thing showing 34 deg all the time is a dangerous fiction. The devious thing was that on some days it would "almost" work, freeze ice cubes and other days it would gain melt ice cubes in the freezer. This not seem like a mechanical problem to me. Mechanical problems usually do not get better then worse over and over like that. In any case, I don't really think that they tested this thing before it left China. So I spent hours and hours trying to get this thing working (warranty phone support) but no solution. Finally I replaced this P.O.S. with a no-brand name fridge of the same size but at 1/3 price and this thing works great! Moved the Whirlpool out, moved the no-name fridge in and now we have a real refrigerator. So now this expensive ($1600) P.O.S. is sitting in the garage, to be thrown out at the next opportunity. The only thing I have for my money is the knowledge to never buy anything with the "Whirlpool" name on it again.
